Adsorptive stripping voltammetric determination of parathion in biological samples using electochemical nanosensors

Y.Sreedhar, P. Reddy Prasad, K.Sreenivasa Prasad

A selective and rapid voltammetric method was developed for the determination of parathion insecticide using innovative electochemical nanosensors like electrochemical conjugated polymers (EcpÂ’s) as a preconcentrated step. The electrochemical characterisation of the pesticide residues are evaluated and the parameter like pH, effect of scan rate, effect of pulse amplitude, deposition potential and deposition time were optimised. The calibration curve was constructed in the concentration range of 1.0×10-4Mto 1.0×10-9Mand the recovery ranges were found to be 99.80 to 99.90%. The results of experimental analysis indicates that the present method can easily eliminate the basic and fundamental interferences caused by other pesticides and non target ions which made the method more sensitive and selective. This method was successfully applied for the determination of parathion in biological samples and the results obtained from the proposed method was good agreement with reported method which is exist in the literature.
