May the variable Sun weather and irradiance affect the climate on Earth?

Albert Parker

Although it is assumed that our primary source of energy began as a homogeneous ball of hydrogen (H) with a steady, well-behaved H-fusion reactor at its core, with a behaviour fully described by the simple Standard Solar Model (SSM), observations instead reveal a very heterogeneous, dynamic Sun. There is evidence our Sun is everything but stable and this variability may possibly have an impact on life on earth that is much larger than the expected.
