The importance of cow products has been mentioned in Sushruta Samhita andAshtanga Sangraha. Cow urine is placed in a unique position in Indian system of medicine. In the present investigation, cow urine distillate has been prepared using two temperatures namely low(50oC) and high temperature (Boiling condition) and subjected to antifungal activity against test fungi. Poison food technique has been employed and test fungi were inoculated by point inoculation method. Considerable reduction in fungal growth was observed in trials. More inhibitory activity was observed in distillate prepared using low temperature and the activity was found to be concentration dependent. Extent of sporulation has also been reduced in plates poisoned with cow urine distillate. The enhanced activity of distillate prepared by employing low constant temperature may be due to high concentration of active components.
