Synthesis of Some Thiazole Compounds of Biological Interest Containing Mercapto Group

A new series of ,-(4-phenyl-2-thiazolyol) thio-alkyl/aryl substituted acetamides have been synthesized by reacting 4-phenyl-2-mercaptothiazole with appropriate N-substituted 4-chloracetamides. The structures of these compounds were established on the basis of spectral data. All these compounds were screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activities. Some of these compounds have been shown promising activities.
