Biochemical, molecular and genetic organisation of bacterial magnetosome for innovating nanotechnology based applications

Renu Singh, Sanjive Kumar Maheshwari

The great discovery of Magnetotactic bacteria is a pleasant surprise for researches engaged in improving the technology related to the material science, as it expresses a magnetic property due to the presence of naturally occurring nano-crystal, attached to cytoplasm membrane. This review focuses on current information of MTB on - biochemical, molecular and genetic organisation within the cells, suggesting the biomineralisation of nano-crystal -magnetosome. Application aspects of magnetosome and perspectives for future research are the additional decided literature of the review.
