Field experiments were conducted at Agricultural College and Research Institute, Madurai during Summer 2006 and Winter 2006-07 with a viewto study the effect of intercropping, in situ incorporation of intercrop residue, nutrient management and leaf extract spray on bollworm incidence of irrigated cotton. Bollworm population was effectively curtailed by the intercropping systems as compared to pure stand. Among the intercrops, clusterbean ensued marked reduction on pest incidence. It was followed by inclusion of black gram as intercrop. Nutrient management and botanicals spray treatment also exerted variation in boll wormincidence. The boll worm incidence was maximum from the treatment plot applied with 100% RDF, but, application of 75 % RDF + 5 % annona leaf extract spray had reduced the boll wormincidence.
