Modelling and its perspectives in entomology

Mathematical modelling is the major tool for predicting population dynamics of insect pests.The changes in pest management objectives should be followed bya change in modelling methodology. Ecosystems with limited diversity are vulnerable to the rapid colonization of the host by some biological organisms.The task of many IPM (Integrated PestManagement) practices is to increase the diversityof an agroecosystem as well as the pest management.To this end, IPM very much encompasses andmakes use of the cultural control tactics and practices thatwere also identified. It also embraces the practice of using biopesticides.
