Oxidation of alcohols with zirconium dichromate tetra hydrate (ZDTH) to their corresponding carbonyl compounds in solution and under solvent free conditions

Primary and Secondary benzylic and sturated alcohols are oxidized to their corresponding carbonyl compounds in good to high yields with zirconium dichromate tetrahydrate (ZDCTH) in dichloromethane or under solvent free conditions at room temperature.
