The term proteomics refers to the comprehensive examination of all the proteins in a particular sample and is defined as the protein complement of the genome. Numerous methods are used, and many queries about the proteins are answered. The material that follows focuses on computational elements of protein identification. There is also a brief discussion of quantification, sample comparisons, and characterization
